Spark Ads Cost Estimator

Spark Ads cost the creator's usage fee plus your media spend. Enter both, plus your own CPM, CTR and purchase rate, to see the blended CPM and cost per purchase. The performance inputs are your assumptions, not benchmarks.

Calculator

Creator fee plus media spend, divided by what that spend delivers. CPM, CTR and conversion rate are assumptions you set. The defaults only exist so there is a number to look at.

Assumptions Same media spend, no creator fee. Replace with your own regular-ad results.

Blended cost

Creator fee and media spend together.

Blended CPA (cost per purchase)

$53.33
Total cost (fee + media)$2,000
Impressions187,500
Blended CPM$10.67
Clicks / purchases (est.)1,875 / 37.5
Media-only CPA$40
Blended ROAS0.75x

A regular ad with the same media spend gives a CPA of $55.56 on your assumptions, against $53.33 for the Spark Ad once the creator fee is included. The Spark Ad matches the regular ad's CPA if the creator fee is at most $583.

How the creator fee dilutes as spend grows

Your inputs, with media spend scaled. Same CPM, CTR and purchase rate throughout.
Media spendImpressionsBlended CPMBlended CPAFee share of cost
$75093,750$13.33$66.6740%

$3,000375,000$9.33$46.6714%
$6,000750,000$8.67$43.338%

The fee is paid once, so a bigger media budget spreads it thinner. This holds only if the ad keeps performing at higher spend, which often it does not. In this table, CPM and CTR are your assumptions held constant.

Spark Ads vs regular ads

Spark Ads and Meta's partnership ads run an ad from a creator's handle instead of your brand account. We cannot tell you which performs better for you: results depend on creative, audience and offer. This table covers structure only, and the calculator above lets you test the economics with your own numbers.

Structural differences, not performance claims.

Frequently asked questions

How much do Spark Ads cost?

Two things, added together: the fee you pay the creator for permission to use their post, and the media spend you put behind it. TikTok sets media cost by auction, so there is no fixed price. This tool adds both and shows your blended CPM and cost per acquisition using the CTR and conversion rate you enter.

Do I pay TikTok extra to run a Spark Ad?

Spark Ads are bought through TikTok Ads Manager like other TikTok ads, so you pay for the media you buy. We have not found a separate platform fee for using a creator's post, so the extra cost is normally the creator's own licensing fee. Check your Ads Manager account for current terms.

What is the difference between Spark Ads and whitelisting?

Whitelisting is the general practice of running ads from a creator's handle with their permission. Spark Ads is TikTok's name for it, and Meta calls its version partnership ads. In each case the creator authorizes the brand, and the ad carries the creator's name and the post's engagement.

What is a blended CPM, and why does it matter?

Blended CPM is your total spend, creator fee plus media, divided by impressions, times 1,000. It is higher than the platform's CPM because the creator fee is spread over the same views. It lets you compare a creator-led ad with a regular ad on the same cost basis.

Does the creator authorization expire?

On TikTok, the creator's authorization is time-limited and the ad stops being usable when it lapses; TikTok's help pages list an expired-authorization error. On Meta, creators can revoke partnership ad permission at any time. Agree the usage period in your contract and plan renewals before the end date.

Methodology and sources

Last updated: October 29, 2026. The math is plain division. Impressions = media spend / CPM x 1,000. Clicks = impressions x CTR. Purchases = clicks x click-to-purchase rate. Blended CPM = (creator fee + media spend) / impressions x 1,000. Blended CPA = (creator fee + media spend) / purchases. Blended ROAS = purchases x average order value / (creator fee + media spend).

CPM, CTR, purchase rate and the regular-ad figures are your assumptions, not benchmarks. We publish no performance averages on this page because we have not measured any. Platform behaviour (creator authorization, expiry, revocation) is described from TikTok's and Meta's own help pages, and it changes: read TikTok's help article on Spark Ads authorization errors and Meta's Business Help Center page on partnership ads before you commit budget. We could not load Meta's help page while writing this, so we link no specific Meta URL. Not financial or legal advice.
