Influencer CPM / CPE / CPV Calculator

Influencer CPM is the creator's fee divided by impressions, times 1,000. Enter the fee and the post's stats to get CPM, cost per engagement and cost per view, then compare against a benchmark you set.

Calculator

Fee divided by the count you care about. Use numbers from the creator's own analytics. Leave a field at 0 to skip that metric. The result is saved in the page URL.

The post

The defaults are placeholders so there is a number to see. Replace them.

Impressions or reach from the creator's Insights screen.

Reel plays or video views.

Likes + comments + shares + saves. Count the same way for every creator.

From your UTM or link-in-bio analytics.

Use your own paid-social CPM or a past campaign. 15 is a placeholder, not an industry figure.

Reach and plays are private to the creator, so ask for a screenshot of the post's insights.

Your costs

Per unit, for this fee.

CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions)

$13.33
CPE (cost per engagement)$0.267
CPV (cost per view)$0.0178
Cost per click$2.00
Engagement rate (engagements / impressions)5.00%

Your CPM of $13.33 is 11% below your benchmark of $15, so this creator is cheaper per thousand impressions than your yardstick.

What fee hits a target CPM

For 60,000 impressions. The target CPMs are round steps, not benchmarks.

$15$900-$100
$20$1,200-$400

Useful in a negotiation: if you want to land at a given CPM, this is the fee it implies.

Benchmarks by platform

We do not publish average influencer CPMs, CPEs or CPVs. Published figures vary by niche, country, creator size and how the vendor measured, and we have not found a primary source we can verify. A made-up average would be worse than none. Instead, build your own benchmark from your own paid-social CPM or past creator campaigns, and enter it in the calculator.

What differs by platform is which count to divide by. Compare like with like:

Which metric to lean on

  • CPM when the goal is reach and awareness. It ignores whether anyone engaged.
  • CPV for video-led campaigns, where a view is the unit you are buying.
  • CPE when you care about response. Decide what counts as an engagement before you compare creators.
  • Cost per click or purchase when the goal is sales. Track it with a UTM link or promo code.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPM for influencers?

There is no single answer, and we do not publish one because we have not found a source we can verify. A good CPM is one that beats your own alternative: compare the creator's CPM with the CPM you pay on paid social for the same audience. Enter your own figure in the benchmark field and the tool does the comparison.

How do you calculate influencer CPM?

Divide the fee by the impressions, then multiply by 1,000. A $800 fee for 60,000 impressions is $800 / 60,000 x 1,000, which is $13.33 per thousand. Use impressions from the creator's own analytics, not followers, because followers do not tell you how many people actually saw the post.

What is the difference between CPM, CPE and CPV?

CPM is the cost per 1,000 impressions, a reach measure. CPE is the cost per engagement, where you choose what counts (likes, comments, shares, saves). CPV is the cost per video view. They all divide the same fee by a different count, so pick the one that matches what the campaign is for.

Should I use views or impressions?

Use whichever the platform reports for that format, and use the same one when you compare creators. TikTok reports views, Instagram reports plays and reach, and YouTube reports both views and impressions. Mixing them across creators makes the CPMs hard to compare, so note which you used.

Is CPM the right way to judge a gifted post?

Not on its own. With gifting there is no fee, so CPM is undefined; use your cost of the product and shipping instead. Our gifting ROI calculator turns that into a cost per piece of content, and you can then compare it against paid posts using the CPM from this tool.

Methodology and sources

Last updated: October 29, 2026. CPM = fee / impressions x 1,000. CPE = fee / engagements. CPV = fee / video views. Cost per click = fee / link clicks. Engagement rate = engagements / impressions x 100. The comparison with your benchmark is (CPM - benchmark) / benchmark. The standard definition of CPM is the price per thousand impressions.

The benchmark CPM and every default input are editable placeholders, not industry data. We cite no external statistics on this page. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to Seed.
