If your team already finds creators on Instagram, you do not need a discovery platform. You need a gifting-operations tool that starts at "they said yes". With Seed you paste one link, the creator picks the product and size and types their own address, and a $0 Shopify draft order lands in your admin. Your DMs, your intern and your taste stay as they are.

Where your DM ends and the tool starts

Influencer marketing has two halves. Finding creators is judgment: spotting someone who fits the brand and writing a message in your own voice. Running the program is mechanical: product, size, address, order, tag, ship, follow up, check for a post.

If you already do the left column well, buying a tool for it is paying twice. The right column is where a brand with working outreach still loses its week.

Your workflow today, with a discovery platform, and with Seed

Here is one creator, from first contact to a tracked post. The middle column is based on how discovery platforms describe themselves; check the plan you are considering.

StepToday (manual)With a discovery platformWith Seed
1. Find the creatorYour team, on Instagram or TikTokSearch the databaseYour team, on Instagram or TikTok
2. Send the first messageYour DMYour DM, or an email from revealed contact detailsYour DM
3. Creator says yesYou replyYou replyYou paste the link
4. Product, size, address3 to 8 DM round-tripsSame, or a gifting checkout where the plan includes oneCreator picks and types it themselves
5. Create the order5 to 10 minutes hand-typedBy hand, or created when the checkout completes$0 draft order appears, you approve
6. Track and follow upSpreadsheet, remindersSpreadsheet, or plan-capped trackingBoard, delivery follow-up emails, post detection

Those step costs are our experience of running gifting by hand, not a benchmark. The point is where the time sits. Steps 4 to 6 are most of it, and a discovery platform mostly changes step 1. Seed changes steps 3 to 6 and leaves steps 1 and 2 alone.

What Modash and GRIN cover that you are not using

Modash is a discovery database. Its Essentials plan is $199 a month and Performance is $499, with caps on profile opens, email reveals and tracked creators (verified 2026-09-24). For a brand that sources its own creators, most of that capacity sits unused. Modash also includes a Shopify gifting checkout on its paid plans, and I want to be fair about that: if you do need search and also want gifting, one subscription for both is a reasonable choice.

GRIN is a creator management platform at $0 to $1,500 a month (verified 2026-08-19). It runs contracts, payouts, usage rights and reporting. If you do not pay creators or run an affiliate program, you are paying for modules you will not touch. Our fuller view is in is GRIN or Modash worth it for a small Shopify brand, and the category map is in influencer discovery vs gifting operations tools.

A creator replies yes. Instead of asking for their size and address, you paste your Seed link. It opens a branded page that shows your products with images and live stock. The creator picks a product and variant and types their own address. That is the whole creator-side experience.

On your side, a real $0 draft order appears in your Shopify admin, tagged by campaign. It is a draft until a human approves it, so nothing ships without your say-so. After approval it is a normal Shopify order, which means your 3PL or fulfillment flow picks it up as it picks up every other order. Delivery webhooks trigger the follow-up emails you have switched on: order placed, shipped, delivered follow-up, post reminder and thank-you. Content tracking finds posts on Instagram and TikTok, and a Kanban board shows each creator's status.

If you already have a creator list

Seed does not claim to import a list of creators. The route is simpler: paste the link into the conversations you already have. Each creator who completes it shows up on your board and as a draft order. Keep your own spreadsheet of who you have contacted if you like. It becomes a record of outreach, not a tool you update by hand for addresses, order numbers and tracking. If you are worried about owning that record, read who owns your creator list.

For proof the handoff works at pace: Bri Beauty placed 43 gift orders in its first week, Dr Water shipped 138 gifts in 46 days on our done-for-you plan, and hiccpet runs 19 gifts a week after moving off coupon codes. I run a DTC water-purifier brand doing about $2M a year and built Seed because we needed this for our own store.

Who should not pick Seed

Do not pick Seed if nobody on your team can find creators, because it has no discovery database. If you want search and gifting in one subscription, Modash now does both, and Seed vs Modash lays out the trade-offs. Seed does not handle contracts, affiliate payouts or paid-deal management, so a brand paying creators fees needs something else alongside it. It does not manage multiple stores. And if you gift fewer than 5 creators a month, a hand-made draft order costs nothing. Seed has a 5.0 rating on a small number of reviews (three) on the Shopify App Store.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Modash if my interns find all my influencers?

Not for finding them. Modash is a discovery database, and if your team already sources creators well on Instagram and TikTok you would be paying for search you do not use. What eats the week is the work after a creator says yes, which is gifting operations. Modash does include a Shopify gifting checkout, so it is a fair single purchase if you want both.

What is the best tool for influencer gifting if I already have creator contacts?

A gifting operations tool that starts at the yes. With Seed, you paste one branded link into the conversation you are already having, the creator picks the product and variant and types their own address, and a $0 Shopify draft order lands in your admin for approval.

Can I keep my own outreach process?

Yes. Seed does not replace how you find or message creators. You keep your DMs, emails or intern workflow, and the link takes over where you would otherwise ask for a shipping address.

Does Seed import my existing creator list?

Seed does not import a creator list. The simple route is to paste the gift link into the conversations you already have. Each creator who completes it appears in your Seed board and as a draft order.

What does this cost?

Seed is $79 a month for 50 gift orders, $199 a month unlimited, or $299 a month done-for-you, with a 7-day free trial and no free plan for new installs.
