Seed's Instagram connection screen shows a status badge next to your connected account. If it isn't active, reconnecting takes one click.
- 1Active
- Working normally.
Default: green
- 2Expired
- Instagram's access token for your account has timed out. This can happen naturally over time. click Reconnect and re-approve access; it takes under a minute.
Default: yellow
- 3Revoked
- Access was removed, usually because it was disconnected from the Instagram/Meta side (a password change, a security review, or manually revoking the app's access under Instagram's own connected-apps settings). Click Reconnect to re-approve it.
Default: red
- 4Webhook not subscribed
- A separate signal from the connection status itself, it means Instagram isn't currently pushing events to Seed even though the connection may otherwise be active. Reconnecting re-establishes this too.
Default: warning badge alongside the status above
To reconnect: open Instagram from your Seed settings and click Reconnect. This opens Instagram in a new tab (it can't run inside the embedded Shopify admin), where you re-approve access. Come back and reload the page to see the updated status.
