# How to find a creator's order in Shopify

Stop searching Shopify orders by guesswork. Go straight from a gifted creator to their real order.

## The goal

A creator DMs you asking where their package is, or you need to check a tracking number for a fulfillment question. You want the exact Shopify order in front of you in a few seconds, not a scavenger hunt.

## How most brands do it

The instinct is to go straight to Shopify's own order search and type the creator's name or email. That works for a normal customer order, but gift orders aren't normal customer orders. The buyer name on the order is often the shop itself or a generic label, not the creator, since the creator never checked out. Searching by product name turns up every order that contains that product, gifted or not. A brand running more than a handful of campaigns loses real time here, especially once a campaign is a few months old and the order is buried in the list.

## How experienced teams do it

Seed already knows which Shopify order belongs to which creator, it created the order. The fast path is never Shopify's search bar; it's Seed's own ledger, which is searchable by the thing you actually have (a handle, an email, a campaign) and links straight through to the order. Treat Shopify's admin as the destination, not the starting point.

## Do it in Seed

1. Open [Gift orders](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/help/gift-orders) and switch to the **Gift orders** tab.
2. Find the creator with **Search** (name, email, or campaign) or the **Campaign**/**Product** filters, see [Gift orders: the Gift orders tab](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/help/gift-orders#gift-orders-tab).
3. Click their row to open the order detail panel.
4. Under **Shopify IDs**, click **Order #…** to jump straight into that order in your Shopify admin. If the order started life as a draft order, a **Draft order #…** link is there too, see [Gift orders: order detail panel](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/help/gift-orders#order-detail-panel).

> **Tip:** No **Order #…** link means nothing's been created yet, the request is still sitting in the **Pending** tab waiting on your approval, not lost.

## Expert checklist

- Start from Seed's Gift orders list, not Shopify's order search.
- Search by handle or email first. It's unique to the person, unlike a product name.
- If the creator gave you a handle, the Instagram column doubles as a search key even when you don't remember their real name.
- Bookmark a campaign's filtered view if you're regularly fielding questions from one ongoing campaign. The Campaign filter persists in the URL.
