# How to export your results

Pick the right export for the audience. A spreadsheet for an internal review isn't the same as a client update.

## The goal

You need gifting data outside of Seed, for a spreadsheet, a client report, or a quick Slack update to your team, and you want the numbers that actually match what you're trying to say.

## How most brands do it

The common mistake is exporting whatever's on screen without checking the date range and filters first, then being confused later why the CSV doesn't match what they remember seeing. A second, subtler mistake is grabbing the wrong export entirely, the full Gift Orders ledger (every order, fulfillment, addresses) when what's actually needed is post performance (views, likes, who posted), or the reverse.

## How experienced teams do it

Know which export answers which question before you click anything. "What did we ship and to who" is a Gift Orders question. "What did it earn us" is a Results question. Both exports always follow whatever date range and filters are currently set on screen, so the habit that matters is: set the range and filters first, confirm the numbers on screen look right, then export, never the other order.

## Do it in Seed

1. For post performance (who posted, views, likes, comments): open [Results](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/help/results), set the [date range](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/help/results#date-range) and any platform/status filters you want reflected, then click **Share results** → **Download CSV**, see [Results: header](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/help/results#header).
2. For a quick text recap instead of a file: **Share results** → **Copy summary** pastes a plain-text summary of the current range, gifts sent, posted rate, views, likes, comments, top campaign, ready for Slack or email.
3. For the full order ledger (fulfillment, shipping addresses, consent, every order regardless of whether it has a handle): open [Gift orders' Gift orders tab](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/help/gift-orders#gift-orders-tab) and click **Export CSV**. This one is available on every plan, not just paid tiers.

> **Tip:** The Gift orders export always includes every order on the shop, not just what's currently filtered on screen. The Results export is the one that respects your on-screen filters.

## Expert checklist

- Set the date range and filters before you export, not after you notice the numbers are wrong.
- Gift Orders export = what shipped. Results export = what it earned.
- Use Copy summary instead of a CSV when you just need a sentence, not a spreadsheet.
- Re-check the range after switching screens. Results defaults to All time, unlike everywhere else in Seed.
