# Fulfillment and your 3PL

Seed creates a standard Shopify order. Your fulfillment, packing slips, and 3PL integration are unaffected.

Seed does not have its own shipping or fulfillment system. Once a gift order lands in your Shopify admin, it is fulfilled exactly the way every other order in your store is, by you, your team, or your third-party logistics (3PL) provider, using whatever tools or integration you already use.

## What's different about a gift order

There is nothing structurally different for a fulfillment app or a 3PL to detect:

- It's a real order, with a real order number, not a draft sitting unconverted.
- Line items, quantities, and the shipping address are populated the same way any order's are.
- The only visible difference is a $0 total and a 100%-off "Influencer Gift" discount line. Most 3PL/WMS integrations key off line items and the shipping address, not price, so this rarely matters for pick/pack/ship logic.
- It carries a `seed-gift` tag and a campaign tag, which you can use to route or report on gifted orders separately if you want to.

## Packing slips and order notes

Extra details that don't have their own Shopify order field, the creator's Instagram/TikTok handle, phone number, and any custom question answers. Are written into the order's **note**, which most packing-slip templates and 3PL integrations already read alongside line items.

## Parcel lockers (Baltic and Nordic markets)

For creators shipping to countries with a live parcel-locker network, the picked locker's carrier, name, and ID are written both into the shipping address itself and as structured order attributes (key/value pairs on the order). The format most locker-label tools in those markets read directly, so a 3PL integration built around that data doesn't need any special handling for a Seed-originated order.

## Once you mark it fulfilled

When your fulfillment process (manual or through your 3PL's Shopify integration) marks the order fulfilled, Seed picks up Shopify's fulfillment event and sends the creator a shipping-notification email automatically, including tracking info if one was attached. > **Tip:** Seed never talks to your 3PL directly and has no fulfillment webhook or API you need to configure for this to work. It only watches Shopify's own order and fulfillment events, so this works identically whether you fulfill by hand or through any 3PL already connected to your store.
