# The gift form won't load, or a product is missing

Causes for a blank/broken gift form or a product a creator can't see, and how to fix each.

## The whole form shows a "took a little nap" error

This is Seed's fallback screen for when it couldn't load your product data from Shopify at all. it deliberately hides the technical error from the creator and asks them to message you for a fresh link. The most common causes:

- **Your Shopify connection expired or was revoked.** If you've reinstalled the app, changed staff permissions, or Shopify invalidated the app's access, Seed can no longer read your products. Reinstalling the app from your Shopify admin usually fixes this.
- **The campaign uses "Use a collection" and that collection was deleted.** Seed resolves collection-based campaigns live on every page load, if the collection itself is gone in Shopify, there's nothing left to show. Re-point the campaign at a collection that still exists.
- A transient Shopify API error. Refreshing the page after a minute usually resolves this on its own; it doesn't require anything from you unless it persists.

## The form loads, but shows no products at all

This is different from the error above. It means Seed reached Shopify fine but the campaign itself has nothing to show. Check:

- The campaign has at least one product (or a collection) assigned to it in the editor's Form tab.
- If **Hide draft products** is on, every assigned product might be unpublished from your Online Store. The campaign shows nothing rather than a broken card. Either publish the product or turn that setting off.
- If **Hide sold out** is on and every assigned product is fully out of stock, the grid can end up empty rather than showing greyed-out cards.

## One specific product is missing, but others show up fine

- Confirm the product is still assigned to the campaign. It may have been removed from Shopify or from the campaign's product list.
- Check the product's status in Shopify. A product set to Draft (not Active) is dropped by **Hide draft products** if that's on.
- If the campaign restricts which variants are offered, confirm the variant wasn't left off that list. A product with none of its variants whitelisted won't render a usable card.
- If every variant of that product is out of stock and **Hide sold out** is on, the whole product is dropped rather than shown as sold out.

> **Tip:** A creator seeing a stale version of the form (an old product list, wrong branding) after you've made changes is almost always a browser cache issue on their end, not a Seed problem, ask them to reload the page or open the link in a private/incognito window.
