What Seed stores for a gift order, what happens when you uninstall, and how creator data-deletion requests are handled.

This covers what Seed collects to place a gift order, and what happens to it when you uninstall or when a creator asks for their data to be removed. Full policy: [privacy policy](https://www.seedinfluencers.com/privacy).

## What's collected

**1. Merchant data**

Needed to create draft orders and read your products. Collected when you install the app.

Default: your Shopify store domain and access token

**2. Creator data**

Collected only when a creator submits the gift form, and used to place and ship that gift order. Optional fields (Instagram/TikTok handle, phone, custom question answers) are stored only if your campaign asks for them and the creator fills them in.

Default: name, email, shipping address, product selection

Seed does not sell or share personal data with third parties beyond what's needed to run the service (for example, our database provider).

## When you uninstall

Uninstalling the app from Shopify triggers cleanup in this order:

1. Any Shopify pages Seed created for your gift forms are deleted.
2. Recurring-gift schedules are cancelled so nothing keeps minting gift links for a store that's no longer connected.
3. Automatic post tracking stops immediately, rather than waiting to be noticed later.
4. Your app session is deleted right away. This is what "session data is deleted immediately" refers to.

Order data may be retained for up to 90 days after uninstall for your records (so re-installing doesn't lose your history), then removed. If you want it removed sooner, email [sam@seedinfluencers.com](mailto:sam@seedinfluencers.com).

> **Tip:** This retention window is part of Seed's standard compliance process. You don't need to request it separately unless you want your data removed sooner than 90 days.

## Creator data-deletion requests (GDPR)

If a creator (or a customer of yours) asks for their data to be deleted, Seed removes their name, email, and shipping address from any matching gift orders, replacing them with a placeholder. This is handled automatically as part of Shopify's standard compliance process for GDPR requests across your store, so you don't need to do anything manually.

## FAQ

**What happens to my data if I leave?**
If you uninstall, session data is deleted immediately. Order data may be retained for up to 90 days after uninstall for your records, per the privacy policy.
