# Create a campaign

The 4-step campaign-creation wizard: Basics, Products, Form fields, Review.

Creating a campaign walks you through 4 steps (Basics, Products, Form fields, Review) with a live phone preview of the gift form beside you the whole time. Each step shows only its most common fields by default; a **Show more fields** link on every step reveals the rest. ## Step progress

Default: Basics

**2. Show more fields / Show fewer fields**

Toggles tier-2 fields on the current step. Collapsed by default so a first-time setup isn't overwhelming; the same fields are always visible (no expander) once you're editing a saved campaign.

Default: Collapsed

## Step 1. Basics

Campaign name and the handful of basic settings. A campaign name is required to continue.

> **Note:** If you try to continue without a name, a banner reads "Campaign name is required."

## Step 2. Products

Pick which products (and variants) a creator can choose from. You need at least one product to continue, otherwise a banner reads "Select at least one product to continue."

## Step 3. Form fields

What you ask the creator for. Shipping address, size, custom questions, and so on.

## Step 4. Review

**3. Emails section**

Collapsed by default with the note "Optional. Seed's shop-wide defaults apply until you customize this campaign's emails." Click

**Set up**

to customize this campaign's email timeline instead of using your shop's defaults.

Default: Collapsed. Seed's shop-wide defaults apply

**4. Advanced section**

Collapsed by default with the note "Password, size charts, single-use links, and other power-user settings. Same as Edit's Advanced tab. Optional at creation." Click

**Set up**

to open it. Appearance (colors, fonts, custom CSS) is not part of creation. Customize it after the campaign is created, from the editor's Appearance tab.

Default: Collapsed

## Navigation

**5. Back / Cancel**

**Cancel**

on step 1 returns to the Campaigns list;

**Back**

on later steps returns to the previous step without losing anything you entered.

Default: None

**6. Continue**

Disabled until the current step's required fields are filled in. Advances to the next step.

Default: None

**7. Create Campaign**

Only on step 4. Creates the campaign and takes you straight into its editor.

Default: None

## Live preview

**8. Phone preview**

A live mobile mockup of the gift form on the right, updating automatically shortly after each change. No orders can be submitted through it. It's a preview, not a real form yet.

Default: Updates as you type

## Plan limits

If you're at your plan's campaign limit, submitting shows a banner naming the limit and a plan you can upgrade to (for example, "You've reached your campaign limit (1) on the free plan. Upgrade to create more."). Free is capped at 1 campaign; Starter and Seed have no campaign limit.
