Getting started — install the extension

  1. From the Chrome Web Store: open the Seed Instagram DM Sender listing and click Add to Chrome (recommended once the listing is live).
  2. Or load it unpacked for testing: go to chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode (top right), click Load unpacked, and select the extension folder.
  3. Pin the extension from Chrome's puzzle-piece menu so the Seed panel is one click away.

Connect the Seed app (for gifting follow-ups)

  1. Open the Seed app in your Shopify admin and find your connect key in the DM Assistant settings.
  2. Click the Seed extension icon, paste the connect key, and press Connect.
  3. Once linked, gifting follow-ups you queue in Seed appear in the extension's send queue automatically.

Run a bulk cold send with merge tags + spintax

  1. Open the extension panel and paste your list of Instagram handles (one per line).
  2. Write your message using merge tags like {username} so each DM is personalized to the recipient.
  3. Add variants with spintax — e.g. {Hi|Hey|Hello} — so the sender rotates wording and no two DMs are identical.
  4. Sign into instagram.com in the same browser, review the queue, then press Start. Watch it work; press Stop anytime.

Understand the delay + daily cap

  1. The sender waits a randomized amount of time between each DM, mimicking a person typing rather than a firehose.
  2. There's a hard daily cap (50/day by default). When you reach it, the sender stops on its own.
  3. Keep the cap conservative — it exists to keep your account healthy. There's no override to push past it.

Troubleshooting

  1. “Wrong account” — the sender uses whichever Instagram account is logged into the active tab. Log out of the wrong account, log into the right one, then reopen the panel.
  2. “Instagram asked me to slow down” — stop the run, take a break for a few hours, and lower your daily cap and message volume before resuming. This is normal protective behavior; respect it.
  3. Queue looks empty after connecting Seed — confirm the connect key is correct and that you've queued follow-ups in the Seed app, then reopen the panel.

FAQ

Does the extension need my Instagram password?
No. It works inside the Instagram tab you're already logged into in Chrome. Seed never asks for, sees, or stores your Instagram credentials.
Is it free?
Yes — the sender is included with your Seed account, which is free during launch. Install it from the Chrome Web Store and connect it to your Seed app.
Can I use it without the Seed Shopify app?
You can run cold bulk sends from a pasted list without connecting Seed. Connecting the Seed app additionally pulls in your gifting follow-ups so everything lives in one queue.
How many DMs can I send per day?
A hard daily cap (50/day by default) stops the sender once you hit it. We recommend keeping it conservative for new accounts.
What if I want to stop a run?
Press Stop in the panel, or simply close the Instagram tab — either one halts sending immediately.
